The Royer Labs Sling-Shock is designed to fit Royer's larger bodied microphones (SF-2, SF-24, SF-24V), and can accommodate similarly sized microphones.
A
radical departure from traditional shock mount designs, the Sling-Shock
utilizes a two-part mechanism consisting of non-resonant nylon cord and
damped tensioning springs. This highly effective vibration-damping
system improves the performance of ribbon, condenser and dynamic
microphones wherever vibration is a concern, reducing rumble and thumps
while holding the microphone securely.
Traditional shock mounts
rely on rubber bushings and stretched elastic cords as the main
dampening mechanisms. These materials provide varying degrees of
effectiveness, and they all degrade and fail over time. The
Sling-Shock's non-rubberized components will not degrade, and they allow
the user to make tension adjustments when required.
In the Royer tradition, the Sling-Shock is handcrafted in Burbank, California, using only the finest materials.
