hile the existing NDH 20 provides excellent noise shielding in any environment and allows for
Neumann-level monitoring even in the loudest scenarios, the open-back NDH 30 is a precision tool
that takes the physical potential of open-back systems to yet unheard levels of sonic precision.
Its superior sound characteristics make the NDH 30 the first choice for mixing and mastering. And
with excellent long-term wearing comfort, it is also perfectly suited to high-precision editing. We
designed the entire acoustics from scratch, from the mechanics to the frequency-selective
absorbers. This allows the 38 mm transducers to unleash their full potential: extremely fast
transient response, dry bass, uncolored mids and transparent highs. In other words, the NDH 30
has no sound coloration, reproducing the signal 1:1.
The frequency-selective absorbers eliminate the overemphasis at high frequencies that can lead to
incorrect mixing decisions in many other headphones. The NDH 30 allows for razor-sharp
localization in the stereo panorama and brings out the depth of the mix. To minimize channel
crosstalk, the NDH 30 is supplied with a high-quality cable with internal balancing. This symmetric
cable routing is a key element in the NDH 30’s overwhelming level of detail, especially in the center
area of the stereo panorama.
With its high linearity and detail resolution, the NDH 30 is perfectly compatible with a loudspeaker
system that has been optimally calibrated with Neumann’s MA 1 Automatic Monitor Alignment.
Mixes begun at home or on the road using the NDH 30 can be seamlessly continued in the studio
using KH Line loudspeakers – and vice versa. As consistency and reliability are essential in mixing
and mastering applications, we’ve implemented extremely tight production tolerances so each.
