Hybrid FireWire-/USB 2.0-tilkobling
FireWire har lenge vært anerkjent som en pålitelig, høytytende tilkoblingsstandard for profesjonelle lydgrensesnitt. Samtidig har også USB 2.0 utviklet seg til en mye brukt tilkobling for lydenheter til datamaskin.

For å kunne støtte begge formatene til det fulle, er Audio Express-hybridgrensesnittet utstyrt med en FireWire-jack (400 Mbit/sek) og en høyhastighets USB 2.0-jack (480 Mbit/sek). Dette gir deg maksimal fleksibilitet og kompatibilitet når du kobler til dagens stadig-utvidende univers av Mac- og Windows-maskiner.

 

Dersom maskinen din ikke har FireWire, kan du bruke USB. Har den begge deler er valget ditt, og vil avhenge mest av andre komponenter og tilbehør du har.

 

Mic/gitar-inputs
Audio Express combo mic/gitar-inputsene er utstyrt med rene, gjennomsiktige forforsterkere og gir individuelt justerbar 48V fantommating og -20 dB pad. Denne 6 mm. tynne gitar-jacken gir høyimpedans lasteegenskaper som passer for både passive og aktive pickups. For en enda mer autentisk følelse og respons når du bruker en virtuell gitarforsterker og kabinett-plug-in, anbefales en ZBox gitar-impedansadapter.

 

Digitalt kontrollert analog trim
Audio Express’ analoge trim circuits leverer ren lyd, kombinert med den digitale kontrollens presisjon. Trim blir justert ved input, før miksen, slik at det gjelder for alle mikser. Miksnivåene er kontrollert separat fra trimmen; du vil aldri måtte ofre lydkvalitet for en balansert miks.

 

MIDI I/O

Audio Express har MIDI-input og -output med sample-accurate timing og software-støtte. Koble til et MIDI-keyboard, lydmodul eller en kontrollflate, og du er klar. FireWire eller USB-forbindelsen til maskinen overfører både MIDI og audio, så du trenger ikke koble til en ytterligere USB-kabel for MIDI.

 

Foot switch
Connect any standard momentary foot switch to trigger hands-free punch-ins during recording. Or map the foot switch to any keystrokes you wish in your host audio software.

 

SMPTE time code sync
You can resolve the Audio Express directly to SMPTE time code, without a dedicated synchronizer, via any analog input. The Audio Express provides a DSP-driven phase-lock engine with sophisticated filtering that provides fast lockup times and sub-frame accuracy. This technology represents the very latest in extremely high-performance, yet cost-effective digital audio clocking. DDS also allows the Audio Express to maintain an extremely stable clock while resolved to incoming clock sources that have substantially more jitter than the Audio Express itself.

 

SMPTE Console software
The included MOTU SMPTE Console™ software (for Mac OS X and Windows) provides a complete set of tools to generate SMPTE for striping, regenerating or slaving other devices to the computer. Like CueMix FX, the synchronization features are cross-platform and compatible with all audio sequencer software that supports the ASIO2 sample-accurate sync protocol.

 

Expansion
Add another Audio Express (or other MOTU audio interface) as your needs grow via a standard Firewire or USB 2.0 hub. The Audio Express provides driver-level support for resolving multiple interfaces with each other so that their audio streams never drift apart over time during recording or playback.
